Welcome to the Automotive Apprentice Success Centre!
The NS Automotive Human Resource Council supports the success of the industry’s apprentices. The automotive service and repair industry is experiencing a critical shortage of skilled service repair and collision technicians. Over 40% of the workforce is over the age of 45, and many of whom are making career changes or planning for retirement.
Employers need to ensure Journeypersons transfer their knowledge and skills to apprentices to maintain productivity levels and to meet growing service demands.
The following sections are tools and information offered to support apprentices in their full journey to Certification.
Apprentice Career Path
Your four year certification journey is a Earn While You Learn model! Apprentices work full time (2000 hours) annually and complete four to six weeks of classroom or online training per year. (Number of courses depend on trade occupation.)
